hey guys. so im really bad at having time to update this thing, so this is wayyy overdue. it spans the course of almost 2 weeks, so i probably dont remember what i did each day. but i do have a lot of pictures!! =D. for those of you that dint remember, i am comming home on sunday. i am leaving oxford at 10 for a 430 flight. it arrives at JFK at 720, so ill probably be home around 11 pm.

since i havent updated this thing in 11 days (i think..) there are goign to be a million pictures on here. it may take forever to load, just warning you.

SUNDAY.

we went to brighton beach, which is this cute coastal town in england.

we went to this really nasty cafe with really terrible hot chocolate:

MONDAY

we had to go into town for photoclass inthe pouring rain it sucked. but soon it stopped raining, and we came out of hiding and took some really cool pictures that i would have never even thought of taking

TUESDAY

we went to london. i picked the trip that went to the tate modern and the camden market, which is sofrt of like a flea market with alot of freaky drag queen stores. the tate was really awesome, but we bearely had any time to spend in it.

WEDNESDAY

basically did nothing, on the way to the talent show, i saw some really pretty flowers in the gardens, so i took some pictures fo them:

the talent show was funny. an RA got pied, and the spaniard did flamenco. also, th italians made a song and the cute italian harold did hallarious hand motions and interpritations to it.

SATURDAY

this day was apparently the day that harry potter was filming in chirist church college's dining hall. this rumor prooved to be false, but rachael and i took advantage of the situation and visited a gorgeous college.

SUNDAY

STONEHENGE ROCKS haha. yeah, its just a bunch of rocks. i dont recommend going there. but we did take some funky pictures! after that, we left for Bath, which is this little town with ancient ruins of Roman Baths in it. the baths were boring, but the food was good!

MONDAY

we went into town with the photo class agin to take pictures for our final project. it was so hot that basically no one took any pictures and just went into airconditioned starbucks and drank juice. BUT! when i came home, at night, there was a bat let into our hallway. it was quite the experience. it kept flying around everywhere, it would almost fly into our heads and hair, but then its echolocation would tell it that it was about to hit something, so it would fly away a milisecond vefore it wound up in your hair. freaky!

TUESDAY

i jsut went into town and took some pictures for my new/old photoproject. they came out ok, they could have been better for sure. but i also went present shopping, which of course was fun.

WEDNESDAY

no pictures, sorry folks..... i dont even remember what i did. wow thats sad. oh yeah! i stayed home and attempted to write my paper, which i eventually had to finish. i finished it at 2 am, and sent it to my mom to check it over. oh yeah, i also went clubbing. that was a lot of fun, but the first one was definately better. there was this one really creepy guy there from our program that shaved his head, got an eyebrow ring, and got a tattoo. he kept trying to dance with the group of people i was with, and we kept running away from him. he was disgusting. he finally got to dancing with ari, and she started walking away, and he kept pulling her back, it was really weird and annoying. eww, gross. he was nasty. anyways, i came home and did my essay, see above.

THURSDAY (TODAY!!)

i took absolutely no pictures today. very uneventful day, went to lunch by myself, ate, shopped and got oxford tshirts, and came home and sat around until now. my friends ditched me...they told me that they were getting all dressed up to go take picture for mateh;s photo class, but i dont think mateh is in photo....yeah, little bit scetchy plan guys. so now they ditched me and im stuck in my dorm room all alnoe, yet again, this sucks. oh well, ill just call my mom and talk to her on the phone for a little bit, and maybe ill call one of my friends, maybe vicky, yeah! ok im going to go now and stop rambling becasue its pointless.

ill update on saturday night before i leave sunday morning, i promise because i really have no other choice. so yeah, ill see everyone in a few days!!

Update Number 2!!

Hye guys!! So the last update I made was on Sunday, and today is already Saturday. This week went by a lot faster than last week, for sure. A lot of really fun things happened. I think im going to make this weeeks update in seperate sections by days, so that I can post some pictures too.

So here goes:

so i arrived at JFK, and this is what I saw

hmm. i dont think much happened on this day. we had an RA lunch in town, and we went to this pub called, well, oops, but i forget what it was called. but i had a burer and it was really good. we went shopping at this really crappy mall afterwards, but i had a really yummy cookie =D. later maybe i went to see a movie? think i might have seen "thank you for smoking" with aurielle and louisa, it was reallly funny actually. i liked it, and i recommend it to you! i dont think i took any interesting photos on this day, although i did have photo class. hmm..lets see..

uhh, oh yeahh!! we went to a club called the bridge. it was teen night, from 7 to 10, and it was sooo much fun. i danced with some guys, and i denied some ugly ones lol. it was really hot and smelly, becasue in europe, you're allowed to smoke indoors. therefore, i came home sweaty and smelling of smoke. gross. but the overall experiance was amazing. oh yeah, and we had to walk there in the rain so we were all soaking by the time we got there. and also, we went to go eat icea cream at this place called george and davis. their icecream is incredible. they have different flavors every day, and all of them are so good. its fairly cheap too, and reminds me of maggie moos.

basically sat around and did othing i think. i dont remember doing anything interesting. in fact, i dont remember this day at all! it might have rained all day, but im not quite sure.

went to stratford upon avon today!! its this really amazing little town where Shakespeare was born. we went to see Romeo and Juliet, put on by the ROyal Shakepespeare Company, which in my opinion was really good, although the majority of people didnt like it. the dialogue was in old english, but the set and ways of protraying the play were modern. i think this is the reason people did not enjoy or could not realte to the play. but, i still enjoyed it. and!! i took a LOT of pictures this day. oohh!! and i bought myself a desk fan that connects to the USB of my laptop to cool down my room on those really hot days, since im on the thrid floor, and it gets really hot up here sometimes. pictures:

went to lunch with samantha, lily, mona, and sean to Pizza Express. the food is incredible there. yumm. when we left i saw some austrainaln guy in the street playing some australian music. it was really cool actually. look below for pictures of him. later, sam and i went to photo class, and we took some wpictures with white balance changesm but i dont feel like posting aseries of those pictures, but they did turn out neat. after that, we went into town to see "Pirates of the Carribbean 2: The Dead Man's Chest" and OMG. it was soo good. i cant beleive the ending though. yeah, the first one was a tad but better, but this on e was still pretty high up there. afterwards, we went to george and davis's for ice cream. yummmm

i went to wimbledon today!! i chilled with, amanda, casey, blake, john, sheethle (spelling?), sam (a different sam than before), and jessica. it was kind of boring in the bginging becasue there wernt any matches going on, but it got better later when we were watching the womens singles final. it was really intense, i think it came down to one serve. it was really nice there, but wayyy to expensive to buy any souveneirs other than some chocolates i already ate haha i came home around 630, ate dinner, did laundry and talked with my mom on the phone for 2 and a half hours while inbetween my 5 laods ofwashing and drying the whites and colors. it was nice talking to her for that long, becasue i really do niss seeing her and talking to her and being with her. yeah, and we have a date set for when i come back to go shopping for a whole day and spend quality time and im really excited =D

Oxford Update numero uno

HEY EVERYONE!!! ok. this is the first time ive really had any spare time on my hands, ive been so busy!! so ive been here for like 3 or 4 days now. let me tell you, its sooo much fun!! Ive met so many awesome people. a lot of them are from either new york city, or from california, but one of my friends is actually from Colomiba!

My classes are fun, I have really cool people taking them with me. My Intro to Medicine Professor is nice, but actually quite boring. He gives a lot of stuff to read each night, like 30 pages, but its actually somewhat interesting, and at the same time tediuos because its so long. w.e. ill deal. My Photo Professor is British!! YESSS. he has an amazing accents and its realy fun to listen to. i was really tired that class period so i havent really paid attention yet, and therefore i have no idea what he is like yet. sorry!

ANYWAYSSSSS....

Monday.
   I left at 2:00 for my flight at 6:15. Vicky came with the family so it was fun at the airport when we had to stand in this gigantic line that wasnt moving at all. we ate Dunkin Donuts (the only food stand in the terminal) and it was quite yummy. after i chekced in, i left for security and i met this quite annoying girl Rachel. shes nice and all, but really really talkative. she was on a different plane than me. then i went to my gate (32) and saw that i had time to go and eat right before my flight at the au pon pain which was right nect to my gate, so me and this one girl i met f (i forgot her name) went and got sandwiches. they were quite good actually, although i dont really remember what i had in it.
   then we boarded the plane. i met hte kid that was sitting next to me, matt. hes really nice. these girls, i dont know their names, were also sitting around me and so were these 3 guys andrew, andreew, and mike. all are pretttyyy hott =). now we were suppoesed to take off at 6:15 right? well noooo. there was soo much traffic/backup on the runway it was rediculous. we were standing in line to take off for one hour. the captain turned off the engines. it suckeeddd. then the captain decided to take of from the other side of the airoprt, and when we taxied over there, we discovered that there was an hour of backup AGAIN. so we tured off our engines and waited. again. ugh. so finally we took off, 7 hour flight, whatever.
Tuesday
   We got to Lady Margaret Hall at around 9 ish. we had to go in for registration and get our room number and keys and map and everything. this took FOREVER. there were so many people because everyone came in at once. it was hectic and crazy! so i got my room, im next to this girl sari, and this girl amanda who has casey next door. they are defintaely cool chicks haha. i cant believe i just said that lol wow. ooh, and we went for a tour of oxford on an open top double decker bus. it was kinda cool, but not gonna lie - i fell asleep for like 20 minutes of it, oops! oh, and i went to sleep after having 36 hours of no sleep haha yay
Wednesday
   first day of classes. intro to med is interesting actually. its more of a medical history course, but i like it. although we do have this really annoying kid in our class named max, but i thikn he might be dropping it because he feels he knows everything when he really doesnt. yeahh. and then i had my first photo class. theres some nice people in it too, like julie and samantha. the teacher is nice, kinda hyper at times though, but he definately knows what hes talking about.
Thursday
   only had one class today, intro to med. after that, i hung out with my next-door-neighbor sari, and her friends. we went into town and got some mcflurries. they were amazinggg. yeah, and thats about all that happened thursday
Friday
   other then the fac thtat we had 2 classes today, it was by far the best day here so far. it was the first day of later curfew (12 instead of 11). we went to see Lakhouse, and it was a terrible movie. i highly recomend you DONT see it. later, aurielle, louisa, a bunch of crazy people and I all had a dance arty in the back on the lawn. it was amazing. we had iPods and a bunch of iPod speakers, and there was this awesome girl named sanam there who was basically our dj. she knew the words to every song, and she had these halarious dance moves. julie daced pretty funny too. the group of us were dancing from about 10 to 11 when a nunch of other epople came in from town, but they didnt want to join us. but finally this once insane drunk/high girl named jenny came and joined us and so everyone else also came. it was soo much fun dancing, omg. i really hope a spontantous dance party like that happens again.
Saturday
   we went to london!! i hung out with these people named casey, amanda(both are in my hallway), blake (hes really hot!), and john (hes in my intro to med class). we went to knightbridge and harrods. but, we decided to be rebellious and not go to the museams, and just walk to harrods instead. it was a 15 minute walk, but we made it alive. but just nbarely. john was litteraly half a foot awaay from getting hit by a bus because he decided not to look when crossing the street. it was pretty funny acutally. yeah, so we went to harrods, and i bought my mom sun tan lotion. i wanted to buy a teddy bear bexause they were relatively cheap, but i forgot to get one the second time we went in. oh well. oh, and we went there for lunch and i had this amazing cookie. it had white chocolate and raspberries in it. it was the best cookie i have ever had. totally worth the outrageous money i spent on it. after i had the cookie we walked back to knightsbrige museams, met up with the group and walked all the way back to harrods. since we saw all fothe stuff there already we just kinda wlaked around and had blake and john try on a bunhc of pants, which is where this really weird girl started following us. she came iwth us everywhere. the wierd thing is, everyone knew she was from ASA, but no one had actually met her before. she was quite weird, and when we went back to the cafe for the second time, she sat down on the floor right next to our table and started examining half and half. that was interesing. and we left, i had a normal night in town, saw Just My Luck . It was a good movie, kinda corny and predictable at parts, but overall funny and good. we came back to the dorm and just hung out a bit, and then i headed up tp my room and went to sleep.
Sunday
   woke up late, at 10, and tooka shower ad went to breakfast with this two girls, i guess it was good. we went to this french place and i basically had dinner for breakfast. i had this noodle thing, and then we had creppes which were AMAZING, and then we went accross the street to an ice cream shop and i got this ice cream called white gold, and it has white chocolate and butterscotch in it and it was sooo good. it kind of tasted like butter batter at maggie moos. and then these girls met up with a british guy thye met somewhere, i think at a bar, so i left them and went shopping in oxford. i got 3 tshirts for myself and a tshirt for my sister. some of these shirts had amzing prices. i got 2 of them for 4 pounds each (which is 8 dollars a shirt). then i went to zara and tried on a bunch of really cheap jeans, for 10 pounds (which is 20 dollars). they fit my butt PERFECTLY, but they were about 6 inches too long, so i didnt buy them. i came back and i calle dmy parents inflorida for the first time since i came to england, and it was nice atlking to them. they are writing me letters, which i am very happy about because now i have something to look forward to getting. and i forgot to ask my mom if i can rent a cell phone, and i f i should go back and buy those jeans and just have them hemmed. oh well, i guess i will have to call her again tomorrow after first classes. then i went to town with aurielle and louisa, and we just walked around because the movie we wanted to see was sold out. we saw a bunch of ASA people just walking around, so i guess everyone had the same issue as us and couldnt find anything to do. and now im here writing this!!

if you read this whole thing you are officially my hero!! so yeah, im going to try to write more so i dont have to write these gigantic entries which overwhelm you all, and take me 3 days to write. so yeah, im off to do some homework, and hopefully go to sleep somewhat early. im going to update tomorrow or aftertomorrow with pictures, becaus ei was too lazy and didnt pu them on photoshop to resize and i havent loaded them to photobucket yet. so be expecting that soon!!
i just wish that my friends from wayne were signed on to AIM more often, and that they would write me more emails to : j.rymwid@gmail.com . please write me!! it really makes my day when people wirte to me. it makes me feel loved, really!

10 DAYS!!!

OMG IM SO EXCITED. btw. in case youre interested, my luggage tages and tshirt came a few days ago. i have to wear the tshirt ot the airport. yayyy. and also my tickets came!!

it doesnt seem to me like im leaving in almost a week. its too hard to believe, and the end of the school year is creeping up on me wayy too quickly

Hey guys! This is my first entry in this journal. Its purpose is basically going to be to tell all of you and let anyone know about what I am doing in England. I plan to keep you all as updated as I can! (And that does include picture-posts if Jess teaches me how haha)

FYI - im staying in Oxford, England, and I am on a summer program. Today, there is officially 20 days until I leave alone on my American AIrines flight to London - yay!!. Wow, that so close..ahh im so excited!!
